This article only introduces the most commonly used features to help you get started with Waifu2x quickly.
There are many other features not included in this guide, please explore them by yourself.

(If you cannot drag and drop files, it is because Waifu2x is "running with administrator privileges". Please close the software and move the software installation directory to a normal directory, such as "D:\123")
If you encounter a compatibility error pop-up window when selecting a preset, please re-run the [Compatibility Test]
If Video Frame Interpolation is enabled, you can also adjust [Multiple of FPS] or [Target FPS] at the same time.
The denoise level option will be disabled when some presets were selected, which simply means that the current preset does not require you to adjust the denoise level.
Using the [Output Folder] function, you can output the result files to the specified folder. Check [Enable] option then enter the folder path in the text box.
You can also enable options such as [Keep (All) parent folders] to retain the original directory structure.
Using the [Custom Resolution] function, you can easily enlarge the file to target resolution without having to calculate the scale ratio.
First enter the resolution value, then select one of the Aspect Ratio option (default: Keep aspect ratio), and finally click [Apply], the custom resolution settings will be applied to ALL files in the list
If you need to change the resolution settings, please click [Apply] again to make the new settings take effect.
If you want to cancel the custom resolution settings, please click the [Cancel] button, which will remove the custom resolution settings from all files in the list.
When working with static images, adjust the [Save Static Images as] option to save the upscaled image in the format you want, or keep it the same as the original image
Some output formats also support compressing by adjusting [Static Images Quality]. 100 means no compression, and less than 100 means compression. The quality value is recommended to be kept above 90.
Waifu2x will always needs to encode & decode video when processes videos. In [Video Settings] tab you can enable hardware acceleration to reduce the time taken by encoding and decoding.
Please select the [Platform] of the Hardware Encoding according to the brand of your GPU.
For Hardware Decoding, it is recommended to use the default DXVA2 decoder
Hardware acceleration may cause compatibility issues. If you encounter any problem, please disable hardware acceleration.
In [Video Settings] you can enable the frame analysis options to speed up video processing and fix broken frames caused by Scene Shifts.
Speed Boost 2.0: Boost video processing speed by analyzing frames, find duplicate frames, and skip them when enlarging and interpolating video frames.
Pre-processing Boost: Remove ALL unnecessary duplicate frames in the video before start processing. Can improve both the processing speed and effcet of frame interpolation.
Scene Shift Detection 2.0: When enabled, waifu2x will be able to automatically fix broken frames caused by Scene Shifts in the video.
Min-Difference: The lower the value, the easier it is to identify a scene as scene shift. It is recommended to keep it at 30%~40%
On the [Home] tab, the two buttons on the right below the file list can export the current settings of Waifu2x into a preset file, which can then be loaded again at any time.
